Welcome back to our Pathshala blog! We continue with the second week of our month-long Kindness celebration! Last week, our students learned and explored the value of kindness and how it is expressed- in thoughts, actions and deeds.
We decided to dig a little deeper into the value of ‘kindness’ and introduced the concept of ‘bucket filling’ to our students. The idea is simple:
We all carry an invisible bucket with us all through the day. When our bucket is full, we feel happy and good. When our bucket is empty, we feel sad and lonely. It is absolutely great to fill up the bucket, and this is how it works:
You need other people to fill our bucket, and other people need you to fill their bucket!
You fill up a bucket when you show love to someone, are kind to someone, or even when you smile at someone!
On the other hand, when you are mean to others and make fun of others, you empty your bucket.
Here’s a peek into our class as our students deep-dived into this concept!
Our lesson was followed by a small reflection period where our students noted down who they were thankful for. Our students were encouraged to think about the smallest actions that made them happy and grateful! The aim of this activity was to teach our students how to express kindness.
Stay tuned for the activities we have in store for #WEEK3! Till then, we leave you with this message: Sprinkle kindness everywhere, it is free!
